Peter Weaver’s application to demolish a bungalow to build a two-storey, four-bedroom house was approved by the majority of the Planning applications panel. They voted five votes to two in favour of the scheme by architect Bob Godel.

Almost 100 people signed a petition against the plans, which have been revised several times, when they were first submitted.

At the public meeting, speaking against the application were Senator Sarah Ferguson and St Brelade Deputy Angela Jeune, as well as the Smugglers Inn owner.
