Jersey interest ends in Junior Worlds

Forced into the repercharge round, having both been knocked out of the first round of the main competition, the two Great Britain team members won their initial heats with Elms cruising through scoring 9.5 and Chapman 7.3.

However, round two of the repercharge brought the loss of Chapman as he was third in heat five with 4.55 while Elms joined Hawaii’s Keanu Aising, last year’s U16 world champion, in the top two with 8.9, beating top seed Conner Coffin from America by 0.15.

In round three Elms came close to progressing but finished third with 6.00 behind fellow GB competitor Alex Baker on 6.9 and Tahiti’s Bourez Kevin on 7.4.
