For Cann, seeded second, it was plain sailing as she made it into the final with straight sets victories in the four preliminary rounds. In the final she came up against Atu Rosalina Sagita and was handed the title when leading 16-7 in the opening set as her opponent was forced to retire.
In the mixed doubles there was success, too, for Agathangelou with partner Robin Middleton, the top seeds, as they beat Tom Armstrong and Catherine Grant 21-14, 20-22, 21-18 to take the title.
They survived a tough quarter-final test against James Phillips and Caroline Harvey but pulled through 18-21, 21-16, 21-13 and eased through their semi-final, against Robert Adcock and Hayley Connor, 21-10, 21-10.
