THE former Jersey College for Girls site may not be sold after all.

Property Holdings are reviewing the future of the site, which sparked controversy last year when it emerged that it was going to be sold to developers for £1.8m, plus a share of profits.

But now the States are considering holding on to it, possibly for use as a new home for the Planning department.

A decision not to sell could leave the States open to legal action from the proposed developers, who had planned to turn the site into apartments. A planning application by developers has already been approved by Environment Minister Freddie Cohen, but the States retain ownership of the site.
