The charity will write to all States Members early in the New Year asking for support for a proposition to make wearing a rear belt mandatory.
However, Transport Minister Guy de Faye does not believe that there is any need to force adults to wear seatbelts.
Headway will argue that the Island’s health service would save many thousands of pounds if only a few brain injuries were prevented by people wearing back seatbelts.
