And both Mr Power and Home Affairs Minister Wendy Kinnard are likely to be called as witnesses in the civil case brought by Harry Cole, a former candidate for the States. Mr Cole, who will represent himself, claims his reputation was destroyed by an allegedly ‘unauthorised public disclosure’ that he had a criminal conviction dating back to 1982 on his police record. Neither Mr Power nor Senator Kinnard could be contacted for comment on the action, but it is known that his allegations will be contested by lawyers representing Mr Power.
