The 53-year-old from Johannesburg posted rounds of 71-67-67 for an 11-under-par aggregate of 207 and a two-shot victory over Scotland’s Bill Longmuir.
‘I was a little nervous going out leading and going for my first win,’ said Lincoln.
‘But the early birdies settled me down and I did get a big slice of luck when I holed a pitch from an impossible lie at the back of the eighth green.
‘I’m very pleased to win – it’s taken a while but now I feel I belong out here on the European Seniors Tour.’ England’s Bob Cameron dropped two shots at the 390 yard 18th hole to fall into a share of third place with Australia’s David Good, Scotland’s Sam Torrance and compatriots Gordon J Brand and Carl Mason.
Lincoln had started the day tied for the lead with Longmuir and Mason but proceeded to fire seven birdies and two bogeys to wrap up victory and pick up a winner’s cheque for £21,000.
‘I came to Jersey in the 70s four or five times and the course is still great, it’s hardly changed,’ added Lincoln.
‘This is my third Jersey Seniors and I’ll definitely be back to defend my title next year.’ Meanwhile the shot of the day came from former Senior British Open champion Peter Oakley who recorded the fifteenth hole-in-one of his career when he hit a 6-iron into the hole on the 180-yard par-three 14th.
The American wins 180 bottles of wine for the shot under a special arrangement the Seniors Tour has with Hardys Wines.
‘I guess I have been lucky with aces,’ he said.
‘Once I won $5,000 for a hole in one on the Champions Tour in the States but winning all that Hardys wine is kinda’ neat – I guess we’ll all have to have a party!’ Jersey’s Tommy Horton continued his return to pro Seniors golf with a =28th place finish, 14 strokes behind the winner after rounds of 71, 73 and 75.
