The Centre of Excellence’s assistant director Simon Moiani is very impressed with the team’s performance in Brittany and said: ‘The tournament has been absolutely fantastic so far.

‘The experience that the boys are getting is superb – they’re getting the chance to play teams from all corners of the world.

‘The standard is quite mixed with some local sides and some professional sides – the latter are obviously more technically gifted but our boys are not far behind them at all.

‘This is the first tournament they’ve played together as a team and they’ve gelled really well on and off the pitch.’ Jersey play Bulgarians Lokamotiv Sofia today and are scheduled to meetBrazil’s Lideranca and French teams E A Guingamp and Quimper tomorrow.
