Rachel Howell’s group Sirena, who have been together for 18 months, have been asked to play at 12 different venues, many of which are already sold out. The ex-Grainville pupil spent her childhood singing in Jersey choirs as well as the National Youth Choir of Great Britain. She met Gemma Wright and Shelley Nash at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and they formed Sirena in their final year when they wanted to explore and experiment with their common love of crossover music. Miss Howell told the JEP that the group have mixed emotions about the impending tour. ‘This is the first time we’ve done anything like this, we’re so excited but also absolutely terrified,’ she said. ‘It’s going to be fantastic but it’s very nerve-racking.’
