They say that a purpose-built conference centre is urgently needed if the industry is to fulfil its potential. And they are asking Economic Development for funding to ‘pump-prime’ other capital projects such as marine leisure. At the annual Jersey Hospitality Association lunch on Friday, Assistant Economic Development Minister Alan MacLean proposed a new ‘partnership’ structure along the lines of Jersey Finance Ltd. This would have an independent chief executive and board and be funded partly by the States but also partly by the industry.
