Semi Final results: Weston Park lost to Jersey White 7-6; Essex Open Blue beat Jersey Red 12-5.

SWIMMING – Jersey in the CI swim: Both Jersey Swimming Club and AIB Tigers acheived great results in this year’s Channel Island Championships.

Held over two weekends, the second meet took place at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre in Guernsey.

AIB Tigers managed 175 personal best swimming times taking 15 records and 13 trophies including best male swim to Sam Fernandes for his 1500m freestyle, and best female swim for Emma Glendening in the 800m freestyle.

Jersey SC gained over 84 personal best times which was an impressive result considering the team was under par after many swimmers had been ill and unable to train.

The club took 15 wins overall including an outstanding swim from James Walwyn in the 1500m freestyle, setting a CI record.

ATHLETICS – Phil in front: Phil Ahier and Jo McGarry (second overall) won the Jersey Spartan Athletic Club’s men’s and women’s 10k race yesterday held on a relatively flat course at Bal Tabarin in St Ouen.

Numerous triathletes swelled the entry to 53 with Graham Horsley and Nick Gorrod and Carole Knight and Kerry Petulla second and third respectively in the men’s and women’s sections.

HOCKEY – Senior Cup joy: Jersey Hockey Association Senior Cup results: Nomads lost to Caesareans Juniors 3-2; RWB Ladies beat Jersey Ladies 4-2.

Minor Cup: Nomads 2nds lost to Eagles Juniors 5-4; Jersey Juniors lost to Crusaders Juniors 3-0; Jersey Ladies 2nds drew with Quackers Ladies E&Y Dabblers 2-2.

Minor League: Victoria College beat OV Vets 11-0; Hunters lost to JHC Lions 1-0; JHC Tigers lost to Crusaders 6-4.

TABLE TENNIS – Ellis third in CI Top 12: Eugene Ellis finished third in the CI Top 12 competition in Guernsey on Saturday.

With 20 points, Ellis finished behind winner Garry Dodd, 22 points and Scott Romeril, 21 points.

In the junior competition, Jersey’s top finisher was Josh Band on 18 points while Guernsey’s Oliver Langlois took the title with 22 points.

SHOOTING – High Gun title for L’Amy: Chris L’Amy was High Gun in Crabbé Clay Pigeon Club’s 50 Bird Sporting Practice on Sunday.

He finally moves up to A Class after scoring 47 ex 50.

GOLF – Coronation Cup results: M Allchin and J Rebours won St Clement Golf Club’s Coronation Cup Stableford pairs competition with a combined score of 72.

They beat P Le Lièvre and R Nobes who scored 68 in Sunday’s competition.
