Voisins department store, represented by its owner, Gerald Voisin, is trying to reverse a decision of the tribunal, which ruled in August that the store had unfairly dismissed its general manager, Thomas Brown. Mr Brown was awarded 26 weeks’ pay, amounting to just under £32,500. Yesterday the Deputy Bailiff, Michael Birt, heard arguments from both sides and is expected to make a judgment in the next few weeks. Acting for Mr Voisin, Advocate Michael Preston argued that the tribunal’s judgment was flawed.
