After filming a series on Island life for the BBC, the Jerseyman said there are people in the Island who seem to ‘have an agenda’ and do not have the best interests of Islanders at heart.
Having spoken to many different people while making a collection of documentaries for BBC 2’s Working Lunch, the former St Paul’s and Muratti star believes something needs to be done.
‘The element of the Island that isn’t so picturesque is the way certain people seem to have an agenda.
That’s something that frustrates you when you see parts of the Island disappearing.
It’s important for people to take a step back and look at what they are doing.
‘Who on earth felt that the waterfront was the right place to put these buildings? You don’t need a view from a cinema or a nightclub, so why there? ‘I know there have been some important changes at a political level but there is an apathy towards people voting.
Having spoken to lots of different people they just don’t feel represented.
‘From my point of view there are warning signs that have to be addressed.’
