Reunion at Le Rocquier before old school goes

More than 400 people turned back the clock to share memories of the days when flares and platform shoes were last in fashion.

The school, which cost £1.4 million in the 1970s, closes next week and will reopen on 1 March in a brand new £14.5 million building nearing completion on the campus.

The first head teacher, Don McGregor, summed up the feelings of those who taught and learned their lessons there.

‘In a way, it is sad.
