Leaders FJ Carter Celtics hammered Jersey Trust Juniors 100-38 while second-placed Slamma Jamma were involved in a high-scoring spectacular as they pipped Sentinels 101-89.
Jersey Trust Juniors 38, FJ Carter Celtics 100: The Juniors faced the leaders with their under-17 squad on court – and Carlo Ranieri, Dave Middleton and Chris Byrne made their size and strength count as they racked up the points.
Middleton dominated under the boards as he claimed 49 points – but the Juniors never gave up.
Sentinels 89, Slamma Jamma 101: Sentinels were always in with a chance until they started to tire in the fourth quarter.
There was some great individual play from Tshepo for Sentinels and Michael Pusz for Slamma with Tshepo scoring 41 points and Pusz 40.
Sentinels led 23-21 after the first quarter before their opponents established a 49-39 lead in the second.
But then the Sentinels hit back to come within two points after the third.
Then Pusz turned the screw with more fast breaks to tie up victory.
Warriors 50, Storm 75: Warriors came into the game after a heavy defeat by Celtics whereas Storm’s confidence is high.
Storm edged the first quarter 14-10 and were the stronger in the second with Duncan Prince and Marc Le Cornu constantly running at their opponents.
In the third Warriors matched Storm with Greg Ruellen and Matt DuBourg finding space beneath the basket But then Byron Hatton hit two quick three pointers in the fourth and in the end Storm ran out convincing winners.
