Illingworth helped the Scots see off St Paul’s 6-0 at Les Quennevais to take Scottish a point clear of second-placed First Tower.

The Tower lads leap-frogged St Paul’s into second on goal-difference, after they won by the odd-goal in five away to Jersey Wanderers at the Hockey Club.

Aarron Scott and Declan Sowney also scored for Scottish with Jay Reid and Barry Keith on the mark for Jersey Wanderers and Tom Gibb (two) and Aaron Crowe registered for Tower.

Sporting Academics beat St Peter 3-1 away to open up a five-point advantage at the top of Division II.

Sam Furness, John Shilliday and Ross Davison scored for the Accies and Matt Sartin for St Peter.

Grouville won their first points of the season after thrashing Rozel Rovers 10-2 at Le Couvent.

Daniel Tardivel bagged five of St Paul’s goals in a 10-1 success over the home team at St Clement.
