Last year’s Jersey Ladies Golf Association runner-up Gloria Paradiso meets champion Jenny Deeley at La Moye GC, following yesterday’s first-round matches.
There were many close ties yesterday – in all three divisions – with the closest between 2003 Island Games team members Diane Carter of Royal Jersey and La Moye’s Paradiso.
Paradiso eventually won through, on the 19th hole, and today meets No 1 seed Deeley who pipped her to the top spot in 2004.
Seeds The second, third and fourth seeds are also in action today, No 2, Karen Le Brocq (LM) playing fellow club member Flo Bisson; No 3 seed, junior Olivia Higgins (RJ) meeting the experienced Corinne Ramskill and another Island Games player, Elaine Pushman (LM), the No 4 seed, in action against Sheila Smith (LM).
The Division II and III players are also competing today, with golfers from La Moye, Royal Jersey and Les Mielles looking for a semi-final place in tomorrow’s matches.
