The consequence for Tony Sharman was three years in youth custody.

Crown Advocate Michael O’Connell said that in September last year customs officers had seen Sharman making two visits to a boat moored at the Harbour while carrying a knapsack.

When he emerged on the second occasion he was approached by customs officers, but he rode off at high speed on his motorcycle before they could stop him.

The boat was searched and cannabis with a street value of £80,640 was found on board.

Officers then got hold of a warrant and searched the bedroom of Sharman’s home, where they found cannabis worth £74 with scales and plastic packaging.
