They have been drawn against another Somerset Premier League side, Welton Rovers, in the third round.
But it’s unlikely that the match will be played on 1 January because of the Island side’s problems in getting to the Midsommer Norton ground.
Said Tower secrtary Jeff Liron: ‘It’s going to be difficult getting there – we’d have to have the team at the Airport for a 7 am flight and the people would be away from their families on New Year’s Day.
I’ve spoken to the Somerset FA and they’ve said they’ll consider changing it because of the travelling problems – although it’s not something they want to do.’ Welton are 15th out of the 17 teams in the Somerset Premier.
Tower’s last opponents, Ilminster, were second when they beat them on penalties on Saturday.
The draw for the Dorset Cup semi-finals, for which St Paul’s have qualified, will now take place after Christmas.
