The GoCard, which has already been launched to businesses, entitles the user to ten per cent off the bill at around 130 of the Island’s retail outlets.

The organisers suggest it could also be used by firms as a staff incentive.

So far a range of retailers has signed up to accept the card, including shops and department stores, restaurants and pubs, filling stations, hairdressers, hotels and travel companies.

An added incentive for those with a social conscience is that for every new card purchased, the organisers have pledged to give between £2 and £3 towards Robin Ward at the General Hospital, with an initial £500 in toys and games already donated.
