The 35-year-old former Channel Island champion went out of the competition playing on the famous St Andrew’s course in Scotland yesterday after missing the cut for the matchplay stages for the final 64 players.

Le Chevalier, who qualified for the competition for the third time, played two rounds with the 288 qualifiers but scores of 72 (level par) on the Jubilee course on Monday and 76 yesterday, on the Old Course, saw him miss the cut for the last 64 by five strokes.
