Volkswagen has announced the pricing and specifications for its new flagship model, the Arteon.
The five-door saloon is priced from £34,305, with order books opening in the UK today.

Two trim levels are available – Elegance and R-Line. The former is a more luxurious proposition, while the latter is the sportier model of the pair.
Both models come with a wide range of standard equipment. This includes VW’s latest satellite navigation technology, an eight-inch colour touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity and an eight-speaker sound system. With Volkswagen Media Control, the infotainment system can even be operated using a compatible smartphone or tablet.

Also included are 18-inch alloys, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, Nappa leather upholstery, LED self-levelling headlights and LED tinted rear light clusters.
VW has also fitted the Arteon with an impressive range of safety equipment. Customers will get adaptive cruise control, city emergency braking, front assist, traffic jam assist and more as standard.
The new upmarket saloon is currently available with a choice of one petrol and two diesel engines, with more power plants being introduced at a later date.

The 2.0-litre petrol unit produces 276bhp, and is coupled with VW’s seven-speed dual clutch transmission. A 2.0-litre diesel unit is also available, with either 237bhp or 150bhp. Both of these engines are offered with the same dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Volkswagen’s head of marketing Geraldine Ingham said: “We are very excited to make the stunning new Arteon available to UK customers today.
“This new flagship model represents a significant step forward in design, technology and, indeed, aspiration, and we are confident that the Arteon will more than meet the high expectations of our customers.”
