Harry Styles, Jay-Z and Stormzy are among the stars on the line-up for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month.

Miley Cyrus, Lorde, Rita Ora and The Killers will also be visiting the famous studio as the radio station celebrates its 50th birthday year with a month of live performances.

While it is customary for the musicians to play their current hit and a cover of another contemporary song, during the month-long celebration they will instead be invited to play a hit from any time in the past 50 years.

It has already been announced that Foo Fighters, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and Royal Blood will take part.

Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin, The XX, Pink and Craig David are also on the bill for the September celebration.

The month will kick off with an extended Foo Fighters performance from their own studio in Los Angeles.

Cyrus, Pink and Jay-Z will also play extended sets on their Friday slots.

On September 29, the final day of Live Lounge Month, there will be an evening concert in front of a live studio audience with a special guest.

DJ Clara Amfo will host each Live Lounge during her weekday Radio 1 show between 10am and 1pm.

Videos from Radio 1’s Live Lounge month will be available to watch on Radio 1’s BBC iPlayer channel.

Amfo said: “This year’s Live Lounge Month has me more excited for our listeners than ever.

“From LA back to our studios in the UK, there is 50 great years of Radio 1 to celebrate with all of the artists and I can’t wait for it to kick off!”

Ben Cooper, controller of Radio 1, 1Xtra and Asian Network, said: “I love Live Lounge Month – the world’s biggest artists, in the world famous Radio 1 studio, playing the best music in the world.”

Live Lounge Month will run from September 1 to 29.
