HAVING gone from strength to strength, window and door company Windowmonkey is now in its sixth year of business.
Commenting on the firm’s growth, managing director Johnny MacNamara said: “Windowmonkey has grown exponentially and is now a key player in the window and door industry in Jersey.”
Johnny brings a wealth of business and finance administration experience to the business and this, coupled with Windowmonkey’s installers’ experience – which spans more than 100 years – is, he says, the perfect match.
“The team has tripled since the pandemic when we saw a real boom, as people who were stuck at home invested heavily in renovating their homes,” he said. “We are very much a team at Windowmonkey and everyone contributes to our success.
“In my opinion, we have the best installation team in the Island. They are the backbone of our business and receive the highest level of praise from customers on their workmanship, cleanliness and courtesy”.
As demand for its services has increased, the company has also extended its product range and offering.
“Windowmonkey offers a wide range of uPVC windows, composite doors, aluminium bi-fold doors, rooflights, roof lanterns and garage doors. We also have exclusive agency in the Channel Islands for New Wave Doors – an innovative system which brings to market a door which does what bi-folds do not,” said Johnny.
“Windowmonkey’s products are top of the range and reflect our commitment to giving customers quality products at the right price. We don’t provide budget ranges because I strongly believe that if you buy cheap, you buy twice.”
And it is not just the products themselves where Johnny and the team strive for excellence.
“It is all about service and the quality of the installation as well,” said Johnny. “One of my favourite things is sitting down with customers and getting a real understanding of how they want to enhance their home and what they want to achieve, and then completing the project so that their vision becomes a reality.
“There are hundreds, if not thousands, of options when it comes to windows and doors, particularly when you look at the design, colour and hardware options.
“We supply Solidor, one of the leading composite door manufacturers, and they ask: “What does your front door say about you?” We’ve borrowed that slogan and ask customers that question.
“While the aesthetic is naturally important, particularly when it comes to a front door, a lot of the benefits are in the thermal and acoustic values of the products.
“With the cost of living rising and sustainability becoming increasingly important to many people, the benefits that you can derive from quality windows and doors cannot be underestimated. This is an important investment in anyone’s home and one which should only have to be made once.”
With this in mind, Windowmonkey is running a limited-manufacturer’s-allocation offer, which gives people a free upgrade to triple glazing on all casement windows.
“We hope customers will see the value in this no-gimmick, real offer. This is available on a first-come-first-served basis, while the manufacturer’s allocation lasts. Triple glazing helps to improve your home’s insulation and help lower energy bills,” said Johnny.
“With triple glazing, three panes of glass are sealed within the window frame and the gaps between each pane are filled with air or an insulating gas, which enhances the window’s ability to retain heat. Not only can this help to lower your energy consumption, but the technology also reduces the build-up of condensation on your windows. It’s a win-win.”
Looking to the future, Johnny said: “The fenestration industry has come on leaps and bounds since the first double-glazed units were experimented with in the 1950s. Now we have triple and acoustic glazing, alongside a number of technological advancements which have allowed for the production of ultra-efficient, aesthetically pleasing windows and doors in all shapes and sizes.”
“With the success and growth we have seen in the last few years, it is our mission to maintain this progress and to continue providing a top quality service and product to our customers both old and new.”
