JET2 have announced two new routes from Jersey which will begin next summer.
The airline is set to introduce flights to Birmingham and Bristol, as well as expanding its existing Manchester route.
The carrier, which already runs from Jersey to East Midlands, Leeds Bradford and Newcastle, set the expansion of its summer timetable from 2027 is in response to continue demand for trips to the Island. The expansion means Jet2 will operate 15 weekly flights during peak periods, and offer around 120,000 seats between Jersey and the UK.
Economic Development Minister Kirsten Morel said: “Jet2’s significant expansion for summer 2027 is excellent news for Jersey’s visitor economy. The strength of its flight-only and Jet2holidays packages will bring new visitors to Jersey and support our local businesses, making it easier to discover everything our island has to offer.”
The new and expanded routes are:
- Birmingham Airport – three weekly services (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday) operating from 2nd May to 10th October 2027.
- Bristol Airport – two weekly services (Monday and Friday) operating from 14th May to 11th October 2027.
- Manchester Airport – three weekly services (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday) operating from 2nd May to 31st October 2027.
Ports of Jersey chief executive Matt Thomas said: “The growth that Jet2 has announced for 2027 demonstrates the growing confidence airlines have in Jersey. Increased capacity and a longer season delivers greater choice and improved connectivity. It’s a great boost for our tourism industry, making Jersey more accessible to key UK markets and providing more flexibility for Islanders.”
Visit Jersey chief executive Tricia Warwick added that the new services showed a “real vote of confidence in Jersey as a destination”.
“Jersey has so much to offer, from our warm welcome and fascinating history to our stunning coastline, countless outdoor adventures, and vibrant dining scene,” she said. “The addition of new routes from Birmingham and Bristol to Jersey, along with additional capacity and an extended season, is a great boost for the Island’s visitor economy and local businesses.
