Susan Kelly, who has been the treasurer of Jersey Mencap for more than 25 years, was announced as the winner at a breakfast event marking International Women’s Day at The Royal Yacht hotel this morning. The breakfast was held to support the Jersey Women’s Refuge.
Mrs Kelly was chosen from a shortlist of three which also included Cirsty de Gruchy, day hospice care and therapies services manager at Jersey Hospice, who is also the founder of Little Miracles Charity, and Lauren Perchard-Rees, chief executive and cancer specialist at Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey.
All nominations were judged by a panel comprising Advocate Jamie Orchard, the chairman of Jersey Women’s Refuge, Jenny New, director at Barclays, and Melissa Nobrega, founder of Caring Cooks and last year’s winner.
