Christian May, who came third in last year’s Senatorial by-election, will focus on Brexit-related issues.
He has given up his volunteer roles with LGBTQ equality charity Liberate, the West of Town Community Association and the Jersey Policy Group to take up his new job on Monday.
Mr May’s salary will be funded from a £1.75 million budget set aside for Brexit-related matters.
He said that his new role demonstrated the government’s commitment to being open with the public throughout the process of the UK leaving the EU.
