Permission is being sought to add the devices to 19 Royal Square – a building that sits opposite the States Chamber entrance – and on the corner of Hampton House Estates at 42 Bath Street, at West’s Centre.
The applications follow a public consultation carried out by the force that examined the department’s CCTV network in St Helier, security issues and whether new cameras were needed and whether more coverage was called for.
A spokesperson for the States police said that the two sites needed enhanced CCTV coverage, but that a planning application needed to be approved first.
