Bill Reynolds, who fought in the Normandy campaign, has released an autobiography called ‘Dangerous Driving: A Life Behind the Wheel’, which recounts his time as an ice-cream van driver, his experiences on French battlefields and later his daredevil racing career in the Island.
He appeared at Waterstones book shop in St Helier on Saturday where he signed more than 120 copies in two hours – including a copy for fellow D-Day Veteran Clive Kemp and Mr Kemp’s wife, Mary.
Written with the help of BBC Radio Jersey presenter and author Chris Stone, the book was put together using Mr Reynold’s collection of notes and his memories of life during the war and beyond.
