This is because the compensation rules only apply to any flight departing from a European airport or flying into Europe with a Euopean carrier.
The Jersey Consumer Council have welcomed the court ruling, which they say will help clarify passenger rights.
Advocate Rose Colley, chairwoman of the Jersey Consumer Council, welcomed the ruling as she said transport links ‘touch all aspects of life in Jersey’.
