The controversial issue could see a final decision made by the Environment Minister Rob Duhamel about whether he approves or refuses plans to build at the site after a recommendation is made by an independent UK Planning Inspector.
Alan Langton, the inspector, who carried out the investigation into the Esplanade Quarter, will hear evidence from a number of organisations, starting at 9.30am in the Members’ Room of the Société Jersiaise.
Currently the site’s owner, Trevor Hemmings, is seeking permission to remove the derelict holiday village and build 28 homes in the area, but returning two thirds of it to a publicly accessible natural landscape.
The public inquiry is expected to last for around two days. The proposals and comments, and information about the inquiry can be found at www.gov. je/plemontpublicinquiry.
