Third Officer Will Jackson helped manoeuvre the 30,000-tonne RFA Fort Victoria as warning shots were fired across the bows of the rogue boat before Royal Marines boarded it.

A group of 13 Somalian pirates were found on board the dhow, with a clutch of weapons, when it was seized on Friday 13 January.

Mr Jackson was serving as the officer of the watch on Fort Victoria, which joined the USS Carney to investigate the suspicious boat. Both ships are part of a Nato-led anti-piracy operation.
