But Angela Knight, the ‘voice of banking’ during five turbulent years in the industry’s history, also said that the islands were doing a good job in the way they were representing themselves.
Mrs Knight, who was speaking recently at the Jersey Chamber of Commerce’s October lunch at the Pomme d’Or Hotel, said: ‘I don’t think you do too badly at getting your message across. I have come across Jersey in Brussels on many occasions.’
‘But don’t stop saying what you do, and even when you a bored hearing it from yourselves, just keep on going.’
