Temperatures soared to almost 23°C yesterday – 10°C above the average – making it the warmest day in the first week of April since 1946.

And Jersey Met Office today said that the dry and sunny weather is here to stay until at least the middle of next week. The mercury is expected to rise to between 19°C and 21°C over the next four days, beating temperatures in several Mediterranean tourist resorts.

While Islanders head to the beaches this weekend, tourists in the Greek holiday island of Corfu will be dodging showers, while those on the west coast of Italy will be enduring more rain and temperatures of just 15°C.
