The report has been published just weeks before a public hearing on whether the Bath Street building should lose its listed status – something that owners C Le Masurier would like to see happen so that they can demolish it.

Heritage and conservation consultant Mark James Price found that the distinctive building had ‘architectural, cultural and historic interest’ and was one of the best examples of the Odeon chain of cinemas built in post-war Britain.

He was commissioned to carry out the report by the Planning Minister Freddie Cohen, on behalf of Jersey Heritage.
