He is calling on Transport Minister Guy de Faye to licence vehicles including Segways, ‘mini-vans’ powered by the sorts of engines found on scooters and mopeds, and powered ‘tuk-tuk’ trikes like the ones recently trialled in Brighton. ‘I would like the minister to act,’ said Deputy Duhamel, the chairman of the Environment Scrutiny panel. ‘I shall be making a submission to the integrated travel and transport plan and attending the workshop, but really I think that we are missing the problem by a mile.’
