Made up of over 500 photographs, many from the Jersey Evening Post archives, the exhibition is mounted on 50 red pyramids spread around the castle grounds.
Organised by the Jersey Heritage Trust in association with the JEP, the displays also feature written material telling of Jersey’s journey of rehabilitation, development and prosperity from the Liberation in May 1945 until the Queen was crowned in June 1953.
The team who have spent months working on the exhibition, which is sponsored by Marks and Spencer, include project leader Doug Ford, designer Wayne Audrain and assistant designer Richard Howell.
Opening the unique display, the Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache, said it offered everyone a window onto a different Jersey.
‘It may be rather sobering for some of us to realise how much the Island has changed during our own lifetimes,’ he said.
