Leasa Nadin (22) and David Couilliard (21) had arranged to eat in a pizzeria on Friday night – the same night it was virtually destroyed by one of three terrorist bombs which ripped through the Egyptian resort.
David had been suffering from a stomach bug and was too ill to go out, which meant that the couple were sitting on their hotel balcony when they witnessed two of the explosions while they were playing a game of cards.
This morning there was an emotional reunion at the Airport between the couple and their parents.
‘Our hotel was almost in the centre of all three blasts,’ said Leasa today.
‘We were sat on the balcony playing cards and we heard the first one from behind the hotel and saw a flash.
At first we thought it was a firework or lightening or something.’
