Last year’s figures are lower than the EU average.

There has been a growth in broadband subscribers accompanied by a decrease in people using dial-up connections.

According to the report this is due both to established internet users switching to broadband, as well as new customers going directly to the faster service.

About 41% of personal internet users have broadband.

Broadband connection has become significantly cheaper in recent years and has been accompanied by a wide-scale advertising campaign by the companies offering it.

The report suggests several reasons for the decrease in internet use in households.

Probably the most important is that because many people now have access to the internet at work, they are choosing not to have it installed at home as well.
