The King Street retailer chaired by Deputy Gerald Voisin informed most of the affected staff about the redundancies last week but delayed the public announcement until today because one member of staff was on holiday.

The company say that during a routine review of the business it was identified that certain management roles were being duplicated.

However, they say that sales are up as a result of an expansion of the business that followed significant investment over the last two years.

Voisins have extended their King Street store and have opened a new furnishings store in Don Street.
