This was the main theme of speeches made by the Environment and Public Services president, Senator Philip Ozouf, and Policy and Resources president Senator Frank Walker on Saturday morning, at the annual event of the Jersey Environment Forum.

This event preceded the Planet Jersey Exhibition, which took place on Saturday afternoon and Sunday, and was attended by around 2,000 people.

Both Senators spoke of the importance of the environment and the measures needed to make Jersey ‘a pleasant place to live and work’.

And the chairman of the Jersey Environment Forum, James Godfrey, talked of two key challenges facing the Island: avoiding degradation of the environment, and learning sustainable practices.
