Esplanade Square – currently the Esplanade car park – has been earmarked by WEB to become a new finance centre for Jersey.

WEB managing director David Margason said: ‘Harcourt’s vision, commitment to enhancing the public realm and their unique experience in developing Island locations were material factors in their eventual selection.

‘Varied and imaginative projects undertaken by Harcourt in Antigua, Tobago and the Bahamas, as well as in the UK and Ireland, reflect this experience and show a consistent commitment to quality that firmly established their partnership credentials.

The scheme is one of five multi-million pound linked waterfront development districts in WEB’s new masterplan.

The others are the Radisson waterfront hotel, the island site, Jardins de la Mer and Dandara’s Castle Quays mixed residential, leisure and retail development on the Les Pas site.

Mr Margason said that Harcourt Developments had already demonstrated a commitment to Jersey through their funding of the island site regeneration project.

Harcourt is an international property development and management company with more than 35 years experience developing office, industrial, retail, leisure and residential schemes.

It operates one of the largest chains of shopping centres in Ireland and has developed the country’s largest business park, Park West, in Dublin.

Other developments include Carlisle Bay hotel in Antigua.
