The full contact martial arts extravaganza has served up some excellent action in recent years and next Saturday’s event is promising to be the best yet.
Organiser Rob Mitchell says tickets are selling fast and it will again be a sell-out.
Mitchell said: ‘This is our fourth year and I’m sure it is going to be the best yet.
‘Last year we had different styles of Thai boxing, kick boxing and Vale Tudo and this year we have added a weapon display by the Taoist Wushu Academy.
I also hope to have a Capoiria demonstration which is a new martial art to the Island that originates from Brazil.’ Mitchell introduced full contact martial arts to Jersey when he started the Jersey Thai Boxing Club 15 years ago.
As the sole Island club Mitchell had to travel away to compete often taking ‘first-timers’ away with him and they often came up against experienced fighters.
But it’s all been worthwhile as club members have won one World and five European titles.
