AN Islander has faced a barrage of criticism online after he was caught on camera running up to huge waves as they crashed over a sea wall.
The man can be seen being drenched as he jumped around facing the massive swell pounding St Aubin’s Bay.
The government has urged all Islanders to away from coastal areas until the storm passes.
Many people on social media criticised the Islander, saying he was putting both himself and, potentially, the emergency services at risk.
Several people branded him an idiot, while another suggested he should be a contender for a Darwin Award, a tongue-in-cheek honour for acts of stupidity.
