Football: Guthrie goal not enough for struggling Colchester

The U’s suffered a late 2-1 defeat to Yeovil Town on Saturday, with the Somerset outfit scoring twice in the final five minutes after Guthrie had put Colchester ahead with his third goal of the campaign.

The result leaves the Essex-based club just one point above the foot of the English Football League, and without a win in ten games.

‘It was good to get on the score sheet, but we’re obviously disappointed, so it’s bitter-sweet for me,’ said the former Island forward.

‘But we can’t dwell on it … we’ve got a good chance to bounce straight back against Cheltenham, and I know we’ve got enough in the changing room to make it work.’
