£10 million car registered in Guernsey

But nobody is saying who reportedly paid the £10 million for the car with licence plate number 08.

And the registration plate itself is worth about double the price of an average car.

The car is called ‘Sweptail’, with the name coming from the fact that it was inspired by the classic Rolls-Royces of old, with a swooping rear end.

A more modern concession is the giant glass roof, which resembles a boat when seen from above.

It is the only car of its kind and was reportedly requested by a buyer who is a connoisseur and collector of ‘luxury cars, superyachts and aircraft’.

Guernsey’s Driver and Vehicle Licensing Department said that the registration number was one of those sold at public auction in 2015. It went for £34,000.

While confirming that the number is allocated to a vehicle on the Guernsey vehicle licensing register, DVL said that its policy was not to make public specific details.
