Mr Cavill, who is a patron of the charity, took a break from filming Mission Impossible 6 alongside Tom Cruise to take part in the race.
The Jersey actor said that he was delighted to be back in the Island to support Durrell but that he had not set himself any targets for the race.
He said: ‘Durrell is something I care about because it is a part of home to me. I’ve got great experiences and memories from going there as a kid.
‘I don’t come back to Jersey as often as I would like and things like this are a wonderful opportunity to come home.’
The race started at The People’s Park and ended at Jersey Zoo.
