Ruling on 200 homes put off at last minute

The committee had been due to consider an application from developer G R Langlois to build the first-time buyer and social rental homes for Andium Homes on the old Samarès Nurseries glasshouse site between Samarès Manor and Les Squez.

However, after St Clement Constable Len Norman produced a letter from the Infrastructure Department which requested further information before drainage engineers could endorse the project, Deputy Juliette Gallichan called a halt to proceedings. Committee members said that they had not received a copy of the letter dated 12 April.

Following the meeting, Mr Norman described the committee’s decision to delay as ‘the right and proper thing to do’.
