POLL: Should the States be spending money on helping struggling parents?

Five family support workers are to be appointed later this year – at a cost of £473,600 – to work with families in their homes to assist struggling parents with everyday tasks.

The Education Department said that the new staff will be able to help with things such as budgeting, time management, nutrition and cookery and dealing with States departments. They said they hope the scheme will help tackle the issues before the problems become entrenched.

Is it only fair that struggling parents are given extra help? Or do you think this is a poor use of public funds? Take part in our poll below or post a comment.
