Naked man found wandering around the former police station

The Magistrate’s Court heard that the 52-year-old’s clothes were lying in a pile about ten feet away and that he smelt of intoxicants.

Advocate Estelle Burns, defending, said that her client had committed the offence as a cry for help. She said that he lived in the Shelter Trust’s Aztec House in Kensington Place but had been asked to leave over the weekend as he had been drinking within the premises.

During sentencing, Magistrate Bridget Shaw said: ‘No one wants you to go back to the days of 2013 when you committed offences and were sent to custody, and when released you then committed another offence before you were returned to custody.’
